Luca: Month 8

11 days ago, Luca turned 8 months old! This past month has been one of the most fun yet, as her little personality develops more and more each day.  She is always smiling and laughing, loves to babble, and in the last week hit a huge milestone- crawling! It is so fun to watch her explore every nook and cranny of our house. She loves sitting at the kitchen table with us and will try just about anything we give her. Current favorites include fish (halibut and salmon), scrambled eggs, black beans, watermelon, squash, and Swiss chard sauteed in garlic. Seriously, she can't get enough! We've also started having her take sips of water from a glass and she loves it.

In mid-April we took a trip to Phoenix to visit some family and friends. It was Luca's second flight and she was a perfect travel companion. We took advantage of the warm weather and got Luca in the pool for the first time. It was perfect timing as we started swim lessons back home the following weekend. She is a natural and we've even had other parents ask us if she has taken lessons before... luckily this is an area she'll take after her dad and not me :). She continues to mostly say "mama", but "dada" has made a few appearances.

Here are our favorite pictures from the month:

Shadow of Luca on Kevin's shoulders watching a video at her cousin's birthday.

Ready her flight!

Snuggles with dad.

Asleep for take-off. Sometimes when she is sleeping I still see her little newborn face :)

Playing with Uncle Mike, cousins Abby and Georgia, and Scooby Joe in Socttsdale.

Room service! Blueberries were a hit.

Ready for the pool!

Floating in her crab- thanks Abby and Georgia!
Selfie with Dan and Rachel!

Enjoying the view on the flight home.

Wearing daddy's headphones! She thought this was so funny even though nothing was playing in them.

First swim lesson- total game face.

Enjoying a snack and her new pig tails!

Another snack - sweet potatoes and yogurt!

Enjoying some sunshine and a frozen teether.

And the outtake... I tried to out smart Luca by putting the sticker on BEFORE I dressed her... that lasted about 3 minutes and this is when she discovered it was there :)
